Brooklyn Nets have officially installed Jason Kidd as the new head coach of the New York-based franchise. The 40-year-old Oakland native who played professionally in the NBA for 19 seasons with Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix Suns, New Jersey Nets, and New York Knicks, retired from playing in the NBA a week prior to the blockbuster announcement.

Kidd triumphantly claimed an NBA championship in 2011, when the triple-double mastery of the point guard steered Dallas Mavericks to the promised land in defeating a LeBron James-led Miami Heat in the Akron-raised NBA superstars first season in SouthBeach. The future hall of famer made notable appearances in the NBA finals in 2002 and 2003 as leader of the New Jersey Nets; falling short against the Shaquille O’Neal-Kobe Bryant combo Los Angeles Lakers and in-prime Tim Duncan-inspired San Antonio Spurs respectively.

“My experience as a player against Brooklyn last season was once they got to 88, 89 points, they kind of get unplugged. I want this team to explode early, get up and down. This is a team that hopefully can get to 100 points because they have that type of talent. So we want to play that type of basketball.” commented Kidd.

The newly appointed Brooklyn Nets head coach – Jason Kidd – effectively communicated with teamates expertly on all levels throughout his illustrious career, which often saw slightly above average talents seal maximum deals, and experience major breakout seasons in recognizing their full potential.

Fast forward to the current day, Brooklyn Nets were eliminated in the NBA Playoffs Eastern Conference 2013 first round opener against Chicago Bulls in a gritty, physically-tolling series. However, adjusting to a second season in Brooklyn after relocation from the swamps of brick city will raise the bar with the voice of reason and purposeful direction of a bonifide NBA champion.
