NHL Stanley Cup Finals 2013 guaranteed riveting game one opening encounter in a mammoth best of seven series stand-off hails from TD Banknorth Garden in Boston, MA before a staggering sold-out 18,000 capacity crowd live on their feet live tonight in holy grail of the ice hockey season, as Boston Bruins (28-14) host Chicago Blackhawks (36-7).

Boston Bruins long and winding road to return to the NHL Stanley Cup Finals came via a commanding NHL Eastern Conference Final route against Pittsburgh Penguins (36-12); Bruins claimed the NHL Eastern conference series in a rampant 4-0 sweep.

The Boston Bruins hoisted the Stanley Cup in 2011 for a record-setting sixth occassion in franchise history, afteroutplaying Vancouver Canucks in a triumphantly fairy-tale 4-3 instant classic series for the ages. The monumental win signified the Bruins first NHL Stanley cup win in four decades; the Bruins secured the championship in 1971-72 NHL season prior to the 2011 title, inspired by the vintage play of NHL Hall of Famers: Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito.
