Sloane Stephens: Wimbledon Tennis Watch

Sloane Stephens generation next annointed appointment as heralded heir to the throne of Women’s professional tennis singles will unravel on June 24 in London at the most regally decorated competition in tennis history – Wimbledon. The prodigiously gifted 20-year-old from Coral Springs, FL shockingly stunned Serena Williams, 31, in the quarter finals of the Australian Open 2013; thus enabling Stephens to mount to seventeenth in the official world rankings.

NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, US soccer star Jozy Altidore, Grammy Award-winning ‘Ordinary People’ crooner John Legend, and Dallas Mavericks superstar Dirk Nowitzki widely acknowledged and provided sincere kudos to the ever-rising sensation via Twitter thereafter Stephens’ monumental ousting of the amazonian Williams.  Since 2003, no singular United States-born professional tennis player – discounting Serena and Venus Williams – have claimed a singles Grand Slam in either men or women’s major competition.

‘When it comes to the next generation of American players, Sloane (Stephens) is ahead of everybody’ said tennis icon, Chris Evert.

Ironically, Stephens’ supreme athletic prowess is naturally and genetically inherited from her biological father – and former NFL New England Patriots running back – John Stephens, who died in a car accident aged 43 in 2009.

With Wimbledon commencing on June 24, fully-fledged fixation is intensely focused on the women’s singles competition featuring court supernovas in Maria Sharapova, Victoria Azarenka, Serena Williams, Li Na, Carolina Wozniacki who Stephens vies to compete pugnaciously in her pursuit of taking it to the next level. The future starts now…
