The only way is Essex. Documented true reality of bringing the critically acclaimed, all-star, urban-boasted Female DJ Takeover tour to the sanded shores of the South East frenetically came to full fruition in the hometown of Academy-Award winning Hollywood actresss, Helen Mirren – Southend.

Bar Bluu – venued within renowned Talk Nightclub – proudly played hosts to Female DJ Takeover on May 23, in a three hour extravaganza supershow. The event cordially introduced elated partiers to enter the world of Milton Keynes-born spinstress, SheJay 1e; as the Female DJ Takeover resident entertainer shepherded the buckwild, uninhibited care-free emotions of the youthful vigor of the Essextonian audience into full blown celebratory mode with R&B/Hip-Hop heat in opening the fourth date of Female DJ Takeover seven-date national tour.

SheJay 1e, sporting glistening, vintage golden age-era gold and hip Def Jam Records apparel, nonchalantly delivered inside Bar Bluu with a consistently pleasing setlist, in what ultimately provided the gateway of the ecstacy-filled aura to subsequently follow suit as the vibe was inherited to Female DJ Takeover co-stars. SheJay 1e has prominently featured at each and every Female DJ Takeover main event since its inaugural showing in February 2011.

R&B/Soul diva, ShezAr, acquired the undivided attention of the compact vicinity, as the soulstress crooned three silkily-smooth records in a live three song segment experience. ‘Forever’ was both the coup the gracé and watermark – minus Mac1 presence – for the titanic-lunged, powerhouse vocalist; who is a part of the respected McKenzie musical clan that includes ‘Beneath Your Beautiful’ hitmaker, Labrinth.

Futhermore, Charles Wright immortal smash ‘Express Yourself’ – which Labrinth covered – enabled the talentedly esteemed prodigiously talented singer-songwriter to masterfully move even the most docile individuals in capacity of Talk Nightclub.

New single ‘Eurgh’ was rapidly rattled off in tongue-twisting, playfully cocky screw-you fashion with full fluidity, as reciprocation of appreciation was mutual from both sides involved in Bar Bluu. Lady Lykez charismatic, quirky persona was evidently apparent; Lykez decked with red customized snapback and black and white union flag lyra-clad pants marked the standout performance of the night for the Female DJ Takeover tour leg in Essex.

Bar Bluu respected resident urban entertainment duo, Rugged-n-Baldy, were essentially on hand to make their presence felt, with the XXL club combo playing sizzling sets thereafter the Female DJ Takeover.

SBTV official DJ Melody Kane, who orchestrated the nationwide Female DJ Takeover tour alongside Birmingham-based urban brand Punch Records, had the distinct entitlement of knocking the belligerent crowd figuratively dead with benchmark Billboard hits in: Drake – ‘Started From The Bottom’, Rick Ross – ‘I’m a Boss’ and Tyga – ‘Better Have My Money’.
