F Scott Fitzgerald novel ‘The Great Gatsby’ sees an adaptation onto the silver screen; one of American literatures finest watermarks of all-time since its release in 1925.

The roaring 20’s tale based in Long Island, NY previously serenaded box offices and movie-goers hearts almost forty years ago with Robert Redford portraying the aristocratical, Gatasby. ‘Moulin Rouge’ director, Baz Luhrmann, has provided an eloquent makeover; in which Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) grows fond of the lavish lifestyle of millionaire neighbor – Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio).

Gatsby is affluent, articulate and vastly appealing to females, yet his existence is shallowly hollow minus the attraction of his life, Daisy Buchanan (Carey Mulligan); who is ironically Carraway’s second cousin, who is already locked into  marital bliss – and by default – unavailable to Gatsby’s chagrin.

However, will Daisy become enamored by her former beau due to his newfound status and gloating financial capital?

Nick Carraway, on the other hand, accurately observes ala fly-on-the-wall, as his close friends’ personal lives turns from decadence into deeper despair.

Baz Luhrmann trademark flamboyance of design and soundtrack choice is eclectically contemporary in that of Lana Del Rey, Beyoncé and Jay-Z; where the TIME 100 most influential Brooklynlite entrepreneurs holds executive producer credits for ‘The Great Gatsby’

Gatsby has a penchant for opulent parties…’The Great Gatsy’ is surely amongst them.
