The vision for Sir Apollo began four years ago when school friends Khuddus and Jayesh had an idea to start a hip hop band using real instruments instead of programmed beats. Meeting the rest of the band through mutual friends and North West London’s live music circuit, they discovered they had a musical connection and formed Sir Apolllo 18 months later.

“We wanted to mix the guitar style of Jimi Hendrix with James Brown-style soul, the insightful lyrics of Nas and the keys of the great Ray Charles; the bass of John-Paul Jones and the drums of Keith Moon”. Jonny

Consisting of five members, joining forces to make a hip hop/rock band to create their own individual identity; Khuddus the vocalist, Jayesh on the drums, Jonny the pianist, Imran the guitarist and Ben on the bass these guys fuse together different sounds; blues, hip hop and rock.

Sir Apollo is more than just a band, they are friends who have fun together making good music. Each of them brings something different to the table, mixing their musical tastes and influences in a way that is accessible, cool and edgy. They have already played the o2 Academy and o2 Islington Academy as well as Camden Rock, Proud and Barfly.

Releasing their debut single in February 2012 ‘No Boundaries’ saw SBTV name them as ones to watch. Now back to prove this point, their third single ‘Dinner Time’ and 7 track EP will place them in new territory and showcase new and definitive sounds.
